API Documentation

Overview

The FreightEx.eu API provides secure, programmatic access to loads, vehicles, company profiles, messaging, and tracking data. It enables transport companies, freight forwarders, and technology partners to automate processes, synchronise data, and build custom dashboards.

Main Capabilities

• Publish or update loads, vehicle availability, and warehouse capacity.
• Search the FreightEx marketplace with filters for route, equipment type, and schedule.
• Read company profile data and maintain partner lists.
• Exchange messages, status updates, and documents with other users.
• Stream GPS and telematics information from supported devices.

Authentication

All requests must use HTTPS and include an OAuth 2.0 access token issued by FreightEx.eu. Tokens are scoped to your organisation and must not be shared externally. Example header:

Authorization: Bearer <access_token>

• Loads API: POST /v1/loads, PATCH /v1/loads/{id}, GET /v1/loads/search

• Company API: GET /v1/companies/{id}, POST /v1/companies/partners
• Messaging API: GET /v1/conversations, POST /v1/messages
• Tracking API: POST /v1/tracking/events, GET /v1/tracking/{reference}

Full schemas and field definitions are available in the customer developer portal. All payloads use JSON encoding with UTF-8.

Rate Limits & Reliability

Rate limits are set per organisation and communicated in the onboarding package. Exceeding limits returns HTTP 429 with a Retry-After header. FreightEx.eu maintains high availability through redundant infrastructure; planned maintenance windows are announced in advance.

Support & Change Management

Versioning follows a v{major} path format. Backward-incompatible changes are introduced with new major versions and announced at least 60 days prior. Bug reports and feature requests can be submitted via the developer ticket system or by email.
